SIS Swimming
After six weeks of training on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons the St John’s swim team participated in the SIS Swimming Carnival at MSAC. This took place on Thursday 26 April. We had 40 swimmers take part and represent the team with such high enthusiasm. It was great to see so many junior swimmers eager to get in the pool and swim their strokes.
Some great results saw Chloe Spalding take 2nd place in 50m and 100m Freestyle, Martina Dujic 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and a couple of third place events too.
Our star swimmer Tofy Jorrissen added plenty of ribbons to his uniform, three second places and two third places. This resulted in Tofy being invited to represent the SIS division at VSAC (Victorian Schools Assiociation Competition) in events on 7 May, which he again added a third place ribbon in the Backstroke relay. Well done Tofy.
Overall St John’s came fifth in the competition. A big thankyou to the staff Marina Kintzel, Aaron Bailey, Michelle Trusler and Ash Holly who helped coach and build a very enthusiastic swim team.
