Students Taking Action

Crazy Hair Day - 19 September

On Thursday 19 September the Junior Council will be hosting a Crazy Hair Day. We are asking students and teachers to come to school with wild and crazy hairstyles.

During lunchtime, a very brave student, Kiri S from Year 5, will be shaving her head to raise awareness about cancer. We would like everyone to bring a gold coin donation to support this worthwhile cause. In addition, you can also CLICK/TAP HERE to donate.

Well done Kiri - please meet us under Mrs Duffy’s shed at 2pm to show your support!

Thank you

Year 2 Action!

Madeline T (2A) took action at home and did a Science experiment to see which objects in her house would float or sink. She recorded her findings in table form. Well Done Maddie!

This term as part of our Unit of Inquiry we have been learning about minibeasts. Henry K (2A) took action whilst walking at the beach. He found a beetle and brought it in to show the class. Everyone enjoyed looking at it close up. Thanks for sharing Henry!

During lunch time, Joe R (2A) found a beetle on the oval. He picked it up and moved it to a safe place in the yard. This action ties into our current Unit of Inquiry looking at Mini beasts. Good job Joe!

2019 Legacy Appeal

Thank you to our Year Six students for selling merchandise throughout the 2019 Legacy Appeal to support the families of those who served their country. Taking community action allows students to become actively involved in their own learning and is an extension of the knowledge they have acquired through their investigation into the ANZACS in their Unit of Inquiry ‘Where we are in place and time’ earlier in the year.

The funds raised from Legacy Week help Legacy continue to assist families throughout Australia, with essential services such as counselling, special housing, medical and social support as well as educational needs for children such as contributing towards their school feels, books and uniforms. Thank you also to our families for supporting this very worthy cause.
