Our Fortnight in Review

Some happy snaps of our fortnight!

Assessment and Rating Report

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been rated as 'Exceeding the National Quality Standards (NQS)' following our Assessment and Rating by the Department of Education in August 2019. An overall rating of 'Exceeding' is given to services that go above and beyond the requirement of the NQS in at least four of the seven quality areas - we received an 'Exceeding' rating in ALL seven of the quality areas!

As of the last quarter, only 16% of OSHC services Australia wide had been awarded the 'Exceeding' rating so we are very proud to be in this percentage!

Achieving this rating is a step in the right direction to being awarded the Excellence in Education and Care - only five OSHC services in Australia are currently have this rating. We are confident that our teams' vision of quality education and care will help us to achieve this in the near  future.

Digital Sign In and Out

As previously communicated, we will be moving over to a digital Sign In and Out program on the iPads called ‘Qikkids Kiosk’. We will begin using this program from the first day of Term 4 2019.

In order to align with our current billing system, we will need to make some changes to how our statements are sent out. Currently, you are billed on a Friday for care provided in the previous week; from the first week of Term 4, you will receive an account on the Friday for care provided in the current week.

Reminder:

The 'Qikkids Kiosk' will require you to enter your phone number followed by a unique pin in order to sign your child in and out of our service. It is therefore important that we have the most up to date mobile phone numbers of all persons authorised to collect your children from OSHC.  If you need to update any information on your authorised contact lists on your Enrolment Form, please speak with Amanda, Tamara or myself (Kelly).

Thank you!

We would like to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Bernadette Gooda for donating a huge range of resources to OSHC.  Many of our students said it was 'like Christmas' when they came in and saw all the games, dolls, books and craft supplies that Bernadette donated.

Also, another thanks to Di Hay for donating the Hot Wheels set - this is definitely getting a workout, particularly in the mornings!

Items for Recycling & Craft

Friendly reminder that we are currently collecting the following items for recycling or craft:

  • Bottle tops
  • Bread tags
  • Boxes of all sizes

OSHC Sub Committee

We are looking for a few more fresh faces to join our OSHC Sub Committee. Meetings are scheduled once every two months to discuss our program.

Please email Kelly at:
