Principal's Report

Term 2

Term 2 has begun like no other, however, it has begun in a strong way with a focus on wellbeing and learning.

I would like to again thank all members of our community for their work and commitment to supporting each other at this time. Our families have been asked to do extraordinary things this Term, and while we know this is very challenging we also know that everyone is doing amazing things in their homes. Our staff are so proud of our students in the work they are engaging with, and genuinely love seeing their work each day.  We know there are a few technical issues for some families and we are working to smooth these out.

Thank you to our staff who are working tirelessly to set learning tasks that can be completed with as little assistance as possible from home, and also providing feedback to students on their work. Nothing will replace the learning that takes place in a classroom, however, the expectation remains the same that families are doing what they can at home to support the Remote Learning program and that this will look different on different days.

Access to the School Grounds

Currently only staff, contractors and students booked in through the Care and Supervision program are allowed to be on school grounds. Other children should not be playing on school grounds, particularly not during school hours. Playgrounds and sporting facilities are currently closed, this included those facilities on our site. This is based on the advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer.

Normal School Things

While we are learning remotely we are also looking for ways that we can have some normality in school life, hence why we are still publishing our newsletter (as well as updates from me via Compass) and awarding student awards.

We are looking at a few other ways that we can give families the opportunity to connect with each other during this time and will let you know what these are when we can.
