HANDS ON LEARNING

Hands on Learning
Hands on Learning is a targeted engagement method that builds self-esteem and supports students to achieve and get the most out of school. Students develop critical skills and abilities like collaboration, leadership, problem solving, resilience, communication and empathy. Hands on Learning caters to the different ways young people learn, helping students build confidence, engage and achieve at school.
Students thrive developing the creativity, self-discipline and interpersonal skills vital for the 21st Century workforce.
Since the start of the term our Hands on Learning team leaders, Ghetsi and Risto, have been working extremely hard with the two HOL groups to clean up the horticulture shed and make it their own work space. They have created a kitchen area that they use to prepare their breakfast and lunch everyday. They have also created an area for their tools and equipment. The Hands on Learning groups are getting ready for their first project of making a billycart.
