SUB SCHOOLS

Junior Sub Scool

How low can the temperature go? Driving through Rockbank yesterday I noted that the temperature registered as 0 degrees! It was, both literally and figuratively, freezing. When the weather gets this cold it is inevitable that students arrive at school trying to convince us that the warm hoody or scarf they have on is within the bounds of ‘school uniform’. Unfortunately, they are not.

Often in the warmth of the house, what appears to be warm enough just won’t keep students warm on that 20 minute, 0 degree walk to school. Please have a conversation with your child and establish if they need more uniform items. Please also label pieces of uniform so, if they are misplaced, they can be returned to their rightful owner.

If parents experience difficulty supplying children with uniform items, please contact the school to discuss the matter.

Uniform shop hours are:

Mondays:                 8:00 to 9:00am and 3:00 to                                      4:00pm

Wednesdays:          3:00 to 4:00pm

Fridays:                     8:00 to 9:00am and 3:00 to                                      5:00pm

Getting to school on time is important so students can spend the maximum time in class engaged in learning tasks. As the sun comes up later we are experiencing an increase in student lateness. Please ask your child or children to increase the pace a little so they arrive to school on time.

Middle Sub School

Fifty five students and 6 teachers will be off to Year 9 camp at Phillip Island on Monday 20th June .  The purpose of the camps is to improve students connection to teachers and peers.

Students will be participating in activities that include a beach walk, rope climbing, giant swing, flying fox, canoeing and team building activities.  This is a great opportunity for your students to experience life away from home and connect with their peers.  We can’t wait to hear the many stories they will bring back.

The students have completed their examinations for Semester One. Hopefully all of the studying and preparation has placed all students in good stead and they achieve the best possible results for their effort. A special thank you for all of the staff who supervised the exams as well as the respective Heads of Faculty for their organisation of the exams. I am sure everyone has earned a well-earned break!
