ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS' REPORT

Subject Selection for 2017

I know it will probably seem very early in the year to be talking about 2017 but we are now entering the phase where we start to think about Course Counselling for our students in Years 8-11.

Students will be receiving information during their Tutorial/Study Skills classes and during ‘Subject Supermarkets’ where the Learning Area Leaders present information and answer questions about the subjects we will be offering in 2017.

I would like to emphasize the important role parents/carers play in this process. You know your child’s strengths, weaknesses, aspirations and hopes better than we do. We are very keen for parents to attend the Information Sessions and the Course Counselling Interviews. (Details are below). Your advice will be invaluable to your child.

Please be aware that certain courses and subjects have entry requirements and students must meet these in order to be considered for such courses or subjects. The Subject Selection Handbooks contain details about the requirements.

It is also important to note that subjects will only run if sufficient numbers of students select that subject. This means that there may be subjects listed in the Handbooks which will not actually appear on the timetable in 2017.

Important Dates & Events

If you wish to have further information or ask questions about subjects in 2017 please contact the relevant Sub-school. They may suggest that you also speak to our Careers Counsellor.
