Schools Spectacular

School Spectacular 2016

15 students participated in Segment 13 “Shut up and Dance” with combined dancers from regional NSW including both Cowra primary schools - Mulyan Public & Cowra Public. This was a special experience and the first time that all Cowra schools have been combined in the same segment. Cowra High students assisted the primary schools with hair and make-up and led by example.

Cowra High School also had four students in the State Company piece “Witches”, Francesca Fenton, Hope Martin-Edgar, Chloe Fricker and Nicola Carter.

All participants have given a lot of time over the past three months, learning and perfecting choreography that was pulled together in the week of the Schools Spectacular concerts. Last week the students spent long hours of endless rehearsals before hitting the new venue - Qudos Arena at Sydney Olympic Park.  It was a great display of endurance combined with lots of excitement to perform with 5321 other students from across the state.

Schools Spectacular 2016 achieved a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD title – Largest Amateur Variety Act!

A special thank you to Ms Prue Williams and Ms Tayla Crawley for all their assistance in the lead up to the big event.

The inspirational talents of local public school performers will come alive on Saturday night when the 2016 Schools Spectacular splashes across television screens Australia-wide.

The 3-hour special will go to air for prime time viewing at 7:00pm this Saturday night (3 December) on channel 7 in Sydney and Prime7 in regional areas.

Well done to all
