Montana Walker - WSSA Cricket
Montana Walker trialed for a spot in the Western CHS girls cricket team last week and was successful in gaining selection. She will now represent Western at the NSWCHS Carnival early in 2017. Congratulations Montana.
Xavier Gauci & Jade Te Weehi - WRAS Selection
The Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS) aims to identify, develop and provide pathways for talented young sports people in the Western region.
Xavier Gauci and Jade Te Weehi from Cowra High School have been selected in the WRAS 2017 hockey squad. Congratulations to both students.
Year 10 Play Boules
With the weather warming up Jill Dunk's Year 10 PDHPE class enjoyed a few sociable, relaxing games of boules (similar to bocce, lawn bowls and petanque) in the shade on the school's front lawn.
Touch Football Final
Last week the final round of the lunchtime touch football games took place. The tournament was initiated by the Girri Girri students. The games were played in good spirit and the competition was a positive addition to lunchtime activities.
A thank you to the old timers in the staff teams for dusting off the boots, applying the Pain Away and having a run.
We would also like to acknowledge our referees who contributed to the smooth running of the tournament - Arthur Simpson, Matt Booker, Jayda Pollard, Jessica Collett, India Johnson, Janama Lambshead, Paddy Ryan, Billy Eldridge, Sonny Eastwood, Cameron Fabian, Toby Apps, Kurt Johnstone, Gidail Bakini & Jake Booker, and also the staff referees: Megan Robinson, Tim Berry, Justin Smith, Elizabeth Pattingale, Rod Eastwood and Damien Johnson.
The overall winners of the competition were The Hornets - congratulations to Jake Booker & Jesse Murray and their team!
