OSHClub

What we’ve been up to at OSHC!

At OSHClub we’ve been getting stuck into some new initiatives this term! Exploring our theme for the term, Sustainability, the children have been learning about our environment and how to care for it. This has been achieved through our Creative, Project, Homework, Junior Masterchef’s, STEM and Gardening clubs, where the children have had an amazing time exploring all facets of their creativity and design capacities! Take a look at some of the things we’ve been up to below!

Harmony Week

This week we’ve been celebrating Harmony Week! Through a range of activities, the children have been learning about cultural diversity and the families within our community. We’ve loved talking about our family traditions and celebrating what makes our culture special and unique. The children have really enjoyed baking some special treats for Harmony Week, which are available for purchase at OSHClub, for OSHClub families only. All proceeds are donated to Project Compassion.

STEM Club

Last week some children completed their three week long project of designing and creating their very own T-Shirts. Through a process of sketching, drawing and printing, the children were able to use their design capacities to develop some awesome T-shirts. Congratulations to everyone involved! Due to the popularity and interest in this activity, we are happy to announce we will include this project again later in the year...with a twist!

Coming up at OSHClub: EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Check out some of the awesome activities we have planned for next week.

We look forward to making new friends and learning new things through play and social experiences. As always there will also be a quiet time for homework, relaxation and reading.

Homework Club

Tuesday Afternoon: 4.30pm-5.30pm

If your children need any help with their homework, please feel free to speak to Lachie or Laura about how we can help them! We are always willing to give your child some extra support with projects or readers if they need!

Menu

Below are some of our menu specials for next week at OSHC!

Meet the team: Lachie

Lachlan (Lachie) is the educator here at St James OSHClub. Lachie is currently studying his Bachelor of Education (Primary) at Australian Catholic University. He absolutely loves working with children and can’t wait to have his very own class one day! On the weekends, Lachie likes to play sports and see his friends. Lachie supports St Kilda FC and when he was young he wanted to play football for the club alongside Nick Riewoldt and Lenny Hayes. Lachie cannot wait to meet all the families of St James this year!

Do you have any recycled materials we could use at OSHClub?

As part of our initiative to embed more sustainable practices within our program, we would love it if you could bring any recyclable materials that the children could repurpose into some awesome craft inventions! Things like toilet rolls, jars, boxes or even newspaper would be fantastic!

OSHClub Class Dojo

If you have a child who attends OSHClub, please take a moment to sign up to our Class Dojo. Through the application parents can view how their child is behaving and also peep a view at the fun things we get up to!

Enrolments

If you’d like to book in for all the fun at OSHClub, please head to www.oshclub.com.au to register your child. We hope to see you soon!
