Many of the St James Swimming Team 2020 on Friday 6th March represented the Holt District at the Beachside Division swimming carnival. This competition is incredibly tough and many have told me that this is one of the hardest divisions to progress through. Having said that our year 9/10 boys finished second overall in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay.  A fantastic effort by Max H, Alfie C, Kingston C and Sam J.

The girls 9/10 4x50m Freestyle Relay was also a heart stopper. The girls won their heat but unfortunately were not the fastest team.

There were also many individual swimmers who competed well and they should be very proud of their efforts. I am still waiting on the overall results of the day.

Congratulations also to Eamonn M, Lachie W and Millie W who represented St James at the Beachside Tennis Tournament last week. Once again the competition was very tough but it was pleasing to hear the excitement of all players at getting the opportunity to go through and represent Holt at this event.

Just when we thought cricket was back on our agenda COVID-19 has taken it away! School Sport Victoria has suspended all sport until at least the end of term 1. Information relating to term 2 sports is yet to be decided. This could affect our year 5 / 6 interschool sport during term 2 including-Soccer, AFL and Netball lightning premierships as well as our weekly sport program. More will be known about this in the coming weeks.

Please note that all SSV trials have now been cancelled until further notice. For further information please visit their website at https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/
