Jells Park Parents Committee (JPPC)

Happy New Year and welcome to 2017! I hope you all had relaxing and enjoyable holidays.

This year we have many exciting and fun events planned which are sure to please both students and their families.

In Term 1 we will be running the following fundraising events:

* Moonlight Family Movie Night - Saturday 25 February

* School Disco - Friday 24 March

* Walkathon - Wednesday 29 March

More details relating to each of the above events will be be available soon.

The role of JPPC is to provide a means for parents of current students to:

• Develop friendships within the school community
• Support the school by improving the quality of resources available through effective fundraising activities
• Enjoy a greater involvement within the school

The Committee in the past has been involved in managing and co-ordinating a number of functions and events such as:

• Mother's and Father's Day Stalls
• Walkathon
• BBQ's
• Second Hand Uniform Stall
• Entertainment Books
• Trivia and Auction Night
• School Disco
• Chocolate Drive
• Pie Drive
• Serving beverages at the School's Concert
• Sick Bay Linen
• Movie Night
• Twilight Craft Market

In 2016, JPPC ran activities and events that generated almost $22,000, these funds went towards the purchase and installation of a new pottery kiln for the school Art room and for the purchase of  new vehicles and equipment for the Grade 6 RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge.

As well as fundraising, JPPC assists and supports teachers and the school, behind the scenes as required.

The AGM is open to the greater school community. It is a wonderful opportunity to be updated on the prior year's results and enjoy a chat with likeminded parents and our Principal, Mr Kevin Oakey.

JPPC monthly meetings are held on Mondays at 2.00pm in the Gym Meeting Room before assembly. The dates will be listed in the fortnightly school newlsletter. You are always welcome. Parents with babies and toddlers are welcome to bring their children to the meetings.
