Wellbeing

Term 3 2022 at Chelt.Sec has seen the college's Wellbeing team work with a wide range of health and wellbeing issues. Everything from providing snacks and meals all the way through to anxiety and stress as the term nears its end with tests and exams becoming student focus.

Within the Wellbeing's content of The Cheltonian - Issue 1, Term 3,  we highlighted that as parents, we sometimes forget our kids absorb a lot of what goes on at home. While this notion is not restricted to just our home environment, it actually extends beyond that well into every part of the community. In other words, anywhere we find ourselves as parents with our children; at home, out shopping, their sporting events, our sporting events, visiting family, out with friends, etc. counter from everyday family stress. There are also positive experiences which likewise end up travelling with your child; back with them all the way into the school yard, the classroom and eventually it ends up as a positive symptom of care and support for others, such as helping their fellow students get through general anxiety or study stress.

It should be noted that students submitting these comments speak for all Year 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and yes, even Year 12's put their penny's worth into this edition of The Cheltonian. The latter says something positive about getting through the long and arduous journey through Term 3 2022. The scuttle bug around the school appears to support the idea that 2022's Term 3 was a lot to deal with both on and off campus.

So...direct from Cheltenham Secondary College students linked into Wellbeing have decided these are their take-home Spring 2022 tips and advice to others, including their fantastic parents courtesy most likely from your own child. Many students visiting the College Wellbeing Team have the same story from home. That is, they have described their parents/guardians as supportive. This sense of support for others appears to be handed down from their own supportive parents. Yes, you guessed it, mum, dad or both may be worrying about the cost of living but are happy to support all those around them regardless and most are in a similar circumstance. The news on the school grounds appears to support the Wellbeing grapevine, things are looking bright as students depart Winter and families embrace the start of Spring.

Of course, no school holiday break would be complete without Cheltenham Secondary College Student Wellbeing top tips for Best 10 TV Shows on Netflix.

Ten movie trends submitted by students for Spring review have been narrowed down to one, yes just one favourite for this Spring. The student vote was very close with all movie submissions narrowly making the cut by a slim margin down to just the one winner The Black Phone.

So don't blame Student Wellbeing if you think this movie is not on your own favourites list. We are just passing on the student's vote for movie submission to "The Cheltonian Editor" for this Issue.
