From the Principal

As we come to the end of another remarkable and busy term, I would like to most sincerely acknowledge the work of all staff, students and their parents and guardians. It is only with the support of a whole community that our young people can thrive as individuals and develop confidence and resilience as learners, which in turn allows our young people to dream big.

There have been many highlights in Term 3. In fact, there have been so many highlights; the college production of Grease the musical, numerous subject focus weeks (Arts, Humanities, Science and Italian), VCE & VCE VM (formerly VCAL) Parent Information Night, course counselling and subject selections for 2023, university lectures and the Year 7-10 Athletics day.

This week we held practice exams for our Year 12 students, in preparation for the upcoming VCE exams. Our Year 12s have been through an incredibly challenging final three years of their secondary schooling and while this year has not been disrupted by lockdowns and remote learning of the previous years, students have still had to endure periods of isolation and their effects, while they were required to quarantine or perhaps while their classroom teacher had to isolate.

Our final Parent Student Teacher Conferences for 2022 were held on Monday, these are a great way to end the term, giving our students the opportunity to reflect on their learning so far this year. The holidays create a great opportunity for us to re-energise but will also give us a break from the classroom so that we can reflect and prepare for Term 4.

As a school, we take pride in how we represent ourselves in the community so a renewed focus on correctly wearing the school uniform will begin in Term 4. Students are required to be in full school uniform every school day from the start of Term 4. Students attending school excursions and representing the school are required to wear the full school uniform. Anyone having difficulties can contact our Wellbeing team on 9555 5955.

You will be aware that COVID numbers have dropped sharply and we are seeing this among students and staff too, hence the reduced number of notifications from the college. Please continue to monitor for symptoms and to notify the college if students test positive. We still have RATs and face masks available for students who need them.

I hope everyone has a restful break and we look forward to a positive start to Term 4.
