Term 1 - Week 6- OSHC News

My Time Our Place:

Our program focus for the week was on appropriate behaviours and supportive networks to get children thinking about how to interact safely and respectfully with others and to learn the importance of support and trust. The activities focused on these topics so children were provided with creative opportunities to draw and write about what they think safe spaces and trust looks like.

The children were able to demonstrate their sense of supportive communities by identifying who they can trust in their lives, as well as determining what their safe spaces look like for them as individuals.

The children have enjoyed being active outdoors by getting involved in various physical activities, both planned and spontaneous. Chasey is one of the favourite games to play, alongside soccer and footy. Groups of children have enjoyed practicing their gymnastic skills on the oval.

Vac-Care Booklets: The Vacation Care booklet for the April School holidays is now available online, from the OSHC room, the front office and has been emailed to all families. Ensure you return your booking form as soon as possible as bookings close on the 5th April.

OSHC Payments: The service has received payments of EFT into the OSHC/VAC CARE account with no reference name. We ask those parents who use this method of payment to check their invoice. If you noticed that your payment hasn’t come thought on your invoice, please contact the Director on 0411 236 014 or 8443 5308. Receptions: Receptions and new children attending our service will be collected from their classrooms by an educator wearing a yellow vest and carrying Freddy the Fish (our rainbow fish) for all of Term 1. This will encourage children to gain independence and confidence as they begin their transition into school routine. Parents please remind your children and their teachers if they will be attending OSHC in the afternoons.

Medications: If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, epipen etc.) to the service. It is vital that we have access to your child’s medication at our service whilst your child is attending.

Hats: As part of our sun safety policy all children are required to wear a hat if they are playing outside. Please remind your child/children to bring their hats from their classroom if they are attending the service.
