Child Safety

The College has recently been ensuring that we comply with the new Victorian Child Safe Standards. Parents can access our suite of Child Safe Policies on the website and in My Aitken. All members of the College community are encouraged to report any concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child. Our Child Safety officers are the Deputy Principal, Assistant Principals or Heads of Schools.

Independent Schools Victoria hosts the Parents’ Website which has regular articles and webinars on parenting advice for all ages of school children – highly recommended.

Vaping

Schools across Australia are grappling with the sudden 2022 surge in teenagers vaping. It is an issue that brings serious concerns for students’ health and wellbeing. Aitken College is trying to both educate and dissuade students from the habit and has also installed vape detectors in toilets.
