Edward Hughes

My name is Edward Hughes and I have been completing my pre-service teaching placement at Endeavour over the first five weeks of Term 3. I am studying a Master of Education at the University of South Australia, majoring in History and Geography.

Over the last five weeks I have had the pleasure of taking a Year 10 History class and two Year 8 Core Geography classes. I have been lucky enough to have the incredible David Thiele as my main mentor. He and the rest of the History faculty, particularly Kelli de Lacy and Alison Slater, have been a tremendous help throughout my placement.

I have also worked closely with Laura Brenko and Kirsty Hansen in Year 8 Core. They have been wonderful in helping me navigate the ins and outs of daily school life. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Endeavour and will miss the students and staff dearly. The goodbyes will no doubt be hard, but I will cherish the lessons and experience gained over the past five weeks for the rest of my life.

Research shows that resilience is declining amongst our children and anxiety is rising. More children are presenting with and being diagnosed with anxiety and/or experiencing anxiety symptoms.

This free workshop will explore what we can do as parents and caregivers to support our children.
