Fun Music Friday: Karaoke Edition
A New Event from the Girton Tech Team
Starting this term, the Girton Tech Team has started to bring back the music and fun vibes to the Performing Arts Courtyard. The Team has created an event called "Fun Music Friday." Each week is themed and in various locations around the senior campus.
A few Fridays ago, for an extra special edition of "Fun Music Friday," the team organised an event in the Black Box Theatre that will go down in school history! It might have been the extended lunchtime, or the allure of a sing-along with friends. It may have been the colourful lights, the theatrical haze, or it may have just been because it was raining outside. The event was a hit.
Students came from long and far, all the way from their lockers and the canteen.

All Fun Music Friday events have been organised by the tech students. It has involved not only their usual set of technical skills learnt in the co-curricular but also some excellent communication, organisation and writing skills. They have written emails to notify students of the event, as well as advertising in a news post on Astra each week. The event's success has been largely due to community engagement, with a weekly opportunity for all students and staff to submit song requests. Each of the events so far has been themed.
