A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Each year as a staff we create an Annual School Improvement Plan (AIP). In order to create this plan we reflect on the successes and challenges of the previous year and look for ways to improve. We are always striving to provide the best possible Catholic Education for your children. You can read a summary of our 2022 plan for parents below. The comprehensive AIP was also presented to our community at the recent School Advisory Council and PT & F meetings.

Over the past two years COVID restrictions have really prevented parents from attending many school events. For this reason we saw providing a variety of activities for parents to become more involved at school, as a priority. While many of these events will have a strong learning focus and aim to assist parents to understand contemporary education we thought starting the year off on a social note would help us to build our school community.

I encourage all families to attend our ‘Welcome to the 2022 School Year BBQ’ this Wednesday at 5.30pm on the school oval. Please bring a picnic blanket and chairs. We will have lots of equipment out for the children to play games. A COVID safe plan is in place and I ask you to to sanitise your hands upon arrival, remember to socially distance and if you are unwell please stay home.

One of the highlights of my week is when students share their work with me. Last week Kinder students were very excited to show me their amazing art work created with the guidance of Mrs Barnes and Mrs Gamble.

I would like to wish our swimmers attending the Diocesan Carnival in Gunnedah this Thursday all the best: Abbie Coghill, Charles Lee, Ricky Hird and Jorja Jamieson. Mrs Bartholomew will be attending the carnival with our super swimmers.

Have a wonderful week

Pauline Long
