Principal's Report

Wonderful return...

Thanks for your support

The start of term one for 2022 has been an extremely successful one for our community.

Working together for our children / students matters.  I am so delighted to see the positive impact our staff are having which is a direct reflection of the preparation students have been supported with from homes.

Well done to all!  When we all row in the one direction, we get places.

For some children / students and families, this hasn't necessarily been the case, so please continue to work cohesively with us to gain the results we're all striving for.

Student information form

Parent / carers will receive an information form to complete and return, attached with today's newsletter.

The form is consistent with information provided by parents in recent years during student testing days - which obviously didn't occur this year.

It is valuable information for our teachers who are learning more about their students and families, to be the best they can in supporting students.  The more information provided, the better.

Long Assembly / Short Assembly

This year we are introducing long & short assemblies.  We love families attending and supporting their children and we continue to welcome any school community members to all assemblies.  We are just differentiating to support a more efficient way of operating, as set out below.  There will be two long assemblies each term and the remainder of the assemblies will be short.  There is an assembly every two weeks, with reminders in our newsletter (with WebEx links):

Next week's assembly will begin at 2:30pm and we hope the school community can join either in person in Kim barne Nitji or via WebEx (link will be shared next Wednesday).

Rapid Antigen Tests

Rapid Antigen Test packs have arrived this week at school and will be distributed Friday to students.  Please utilise them for the ensuing two week period ie week 4 & 5.  The school is provided only enough packs for two tests per week per enrolled student.

Connect-Ed

Our parent support program, Connect-Ed began today.  The program is offered each Wednesday morning from 9:15 and each Wednesday evening from 5:45pm.  It is designed to maximise each child's potential in their formative years and for parents to support learning at home in the most meaningful and effective ways.

We welcome all parents who wish to join.  Please contact the office for further information or to enrol - it's free, complete with child care for toddler or students.

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
