Principal's message

Hi everyone,
This is the last newsletter post for what has again been a tumultuous year and yesterday did not let us down, nothing like a challenge to end the year on.
We were fortunate enough to get through the Graduation Assembly, in which our Year 6 students were amazing. A link to the assembly will be published on our social media sites today. Thank you to Glen Watson for all his work on ensuring we could get it out to our entire school community.
A huge thank you must go to our Year 5/6 team on what was an amazing Graduation Assembly. The work, the thought and the final product was superb. Our staff and the students can be really proud of what was achieved yesterday.
Unfortunately, due to having a student test positive to COVID, we had to cancel our Final Assembly for the year. Again both our staff and students handled the situation brilliantly and ensured student wellbeing was at the forefront of our thinking. An outdoor assembly was held later in the day so we could ensure our students were not disappointed. Academic awards, the JSC Executive and House Captains for 2022 were announced. Congratulations to everyone on again showing us all just how resilient and flexible you all are.
Thanks again to all our parents who were notified that their child was a close contact. Your support and the way you all responded was greatly appreciated. We will sit down over the next day or two and reflect and review our processes to ensure we are improving the way we do things.
Finally thank you all for your support over the last 3 terms. I have personally loved the role and the challenges it has presented. Our staff are amazing and I’m looking forward to 2022.
Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year everyone and please enjoy your time with your families and importantly, stay safe.
Regards,
Dean Clements
Principal
