Community Engagement

Community Engagement
I am so excited to start this year off in a new role. I look forward to developing lots of interest in our amazing College Community and building links with other schools, our Alumni, Parents and Friends and the wider area.
New Staff
To start the year off, I wanted to share some information about the 25 wonderful new staff who have joined us at Aitken this year. Over the next few weeks, I will introduce you to each of them. We welcome them to our community.
Reach Out Community (ROC)
The first ROC event will take place on Thursday 3 March between 6pm and 7.30pm. All members of the community are invited to meet and chat with others about all that is wonderful about our school with a 'Welcome Community Picnic'. Families will need to register their attendance at https://www.trybooking.com/BXFIU
All attendees will need to QR Code in and provide proof of vaccination status. This picnic will be BYO food and drink. Grandparents and pets welcome. There will be some play equipment available for children. Feel free to bring along a chair or a picnic blanket for yourselves.
Parent Helpers
There are strict guidelines that we must adhere to for anyone coming in to assist in the classroom. On 16 February at 2pm, anyone who would like to be part of this program will need to complete an induction which covers expectations, working with children’s checks and vaccination status.
Classroom helpers can include assisting with Parents & Friends Association activities, helping in the Kitchen Garden Program, or just generally working in classroom programs. Please register your attendance at this induction by clicking on the following link.
