WELCOME BACK!
I love the start of a new school year; it brings hope, promise, excitement and a chance to reset. We are off to a great start to the term, have begun with all here (our gorgeous Preps will be joining us soon) and already connections and important relationships are being formed. Of course, the learning journey has begun but schools offer more than academic growth and success. To all students from our team, we look forward to getting to know you, challenging you, inspiring you, your individuality and uniqueness.
May 2022 allow our students and community to grow, support one another and celebrate all achievements, great and small.
To begin, this year, our own Ms Carmen Mazzarotta is represented in the 2022 National Teacher Artist Prize. Please join us by supporting Ms Mazzarotta by visiting (and voting if you wish) https://zart.us.launchpad6.com/ntap22/entries She has three entries, one of which ‘Pod and Seed’ is pictured below.
In the theme of celebration, I would like to acknowledge the success of the class of 21, with Studio Art and VCD students achieving excellent results.
I look forward to sharing the amazing work and images of our students engaging in their learning and skill development over the year.
Calling all budding artists in our community!
Please share images of your work (photography/craft/drawing/painting/digital/ceramics/any medium) so I may, with permission, include them in my next newsletter. We have a lot of talented students out there who produce incredible work off site. Please email jpegs to lcamilleri@aitkencollege.edu.au.
I end with a prayer -
Mrs Linda Camilleri
Head of Visual Arts
