First Lap

The First Lap voucher program provides $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of children aged 3-6 years who are not enrolled in school to contribute towards the cost of swimming lessons. The program has been expanded for the 2021/22 financial year to include children in Kindergarten in 2021 and children starting Kindergarten in 2022, who missed out on vital water safety education during their pre-school years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Swimming is an important part of life for many Australian residents. Whether safely enjoying a splash at the local pool, heading to the beach or going for a dip in a river, it is important that all people, especially children, have skills and confidence in and around the water.

Water safety education is key to ensuring children learn vital safety and survival skills from a young age – a skill they will keep with them for life.

The vouchers may be used with an approved First Lap provider and are available through the Service NSW website.

By making swimming and water safety education more accessible for families, the First Lap program will help keep NSW children healthy, happy, and safe in and around the water.

Daughters and Dads

The Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered (DADAE) program is a unique program for fathers and their primary school aged daughters developed by the University of Newcastle.  The program educates and empowers girls alongside their fathers to improve physical activity, sport skill proficiency and social and emotional wellbeing.

If you are a dad who wants to spend quality time with your daughter, do fun physical activities, and learn how to improve her sport skills, confidence, self-esteem and resilience, then book into a program.

There are two different Daughters and Dads program offerings including our ‘Classic’, weekly program and our ‘Weekender’, condensed residential program at a Sport and Recreation Centre.

If you are interested in regestering for either of these programs, please follow the link
