Students who are preparing to receive First Confession this year are asked to attend an information session and enrolment liturgy. The date on the calendar for this event is currently Saturday 12th February at 3.00pm. Please be aware that this may change. All changes will be sent out via Compass next week. It is a Parish requirement that all candidates attend an enrolment liturgy.
Please join our Parish to celebrate the Eucharist. Our Parish offers three Mass times every weekend.
Saturday - 5.30pm
Sunday - 9.00am and 5.30pm
Welcome to an exciting year of library events and activities. As the year unfolds there will be news about what is going on in the library. Please take the time to check what is going on with your child in the exciting world of books, authors and literature.
We will be having our usual big events such as Book Week, Book Fair and Talk Like a Pirate, as well as fortnightly lessons and break time activities.
Break activities will be particulalry exciting this year, so check this space to see what is new and happening.
We are very excited to have a new addition to the library staff this year.
Ms Steph will be part of the team to assist with administrative tasks and to work with the students with their reading during breaks.
Welcome, Ms Steph. We are so glad you are here.
Primary: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week.
Infants: Thursday and Friday every week.
Early Birds will begin on Monday. Each day the library is open from 8.15am. Students are invited to come and read in the library. In Infants they are especially encouraged to read aloud to Ms Annie or Ms Steph. All students are working on collecting stickers of various types to show how much they have been reading.
Please encourage your child to pop into the library for just a few minutes to practise their reading in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
It is essential that all students have a bag to borrow books to take home. Last year we lost many valuable books to damage while in transit between home and school. A bag protects the books from drink bottle leaks, uneaten food and dirty sports equipment. Please ensure your child has a bag on their library day because reading at home with changing variety of books is imperative to every student's reading development.
The library timetable is still being finalised. However, next week we have the following classes for their library fortnightly visit:
Monday: 4U, 3R, 3C
Tuesday: 4H, 3P
Wednesday: 4W
Thursday: 1C, 1H and 1E
Friday: KP, KM, KA, KS
I am sharing this lovely link with a short list of books that are must read for every child at each stage of school. Each book is essential reading and sharing for every student. Take a minute to check out what's on the list. All of the Early Years and Primary books are available in our libraries. Feel free to request to borrow them.

Lots of students have happily told me they used SORA for some reading over the holidays. There are lots of wet days coming up so, please, take a look if you haven't already, get your child logged in and see what's on offer!
See you in the Library,
Ms Annie and Ms Steph
