Principal's Report

A message from the Principal

Year 12 2021

There is no doubt that the past two years have been hard on us all. It has been especially hard on our Year 12 cohort of 2021. for the past two years, they have undertaken the VCE and VCAL through over 250 days of lockdown and remote learning. So it great to be able to complete our exams on the school site, but more importantly to acknowledge our students at the Graduation Ceremony (the Graduation Ceremony is available to be viewed on our Reservoir High TV Youtube channel).

I am also pleased to announce and publish to our school community our students exceptional achievement this year. Students have now received their VCE results, and I am pleased to announce that they are again our best ever!  The achievement of our students has now grown for the 7th straight year. This year our Median score is 28 and 42% of our students achieved in the Top 30% of the state. While I am proud of all of our students, I would like to acknowledge our top three achieving students of 2021:

School Dux- Lacy Lu- ATAR- 99.25

Sweeney Marshall- ATAR 96.5

Alisha Verga- ATAR 95.85

Well done to all of our students. We know that the ATAR is not a score that defines either who we are, or define our future, it is instead a one point in time rank of achievement against a series of SACS and Exams. What is most important is that our students have identified their pathways, worked towards achieving them and set themselves up in order to achieve life long success. So congratulations to all for completing the VCE and VCAL over what has been a very challenging time and well done to all students on their achievement. All the best with your future endeavours and stay in touch!

Term 4 2022

The final term of 2021 has proven to be a very busy time at Reservoir High. Following our extended period of lockdown in Term 3, we took the opportunity to fit in as many of those important school events that we missed from Term 3, as well as our usual Term 4 schedule.

This included our School production for 2021. What an amazing one night performance!  am so filled with admiration for the students and staff involved in putting together this year's show. Through lockdowns, over video calls and in the busy times of Term 4, our students prepared for and produced a show that can only be described in one word- FUN. It was such a fun night, characterised by amazing performances by our students. Check out the videos on our Reservoir High TV channel in You tube (and in this newsletter)

We were able to undertake a wide range of extra curricula and co-curricula programs. This included multiple sports days and carnivals, Health Immersion Days, Debating competitions, the Year 8 La Trobe University STEAM Camp, the Remembrance Day ceremony, Year 6 into 7 Parents Night and Transition Day, Year 7 STEAM Day and our annual Awards Night. Please see the pages in this newsletter acknowledging students who received awards (and check out the video in our You Tube Chanel if you missed the night.)
