Sister School Exchange Visit

Le Hong Phong High School

A group of twelve students and one teacher arrived from our sister school, Le Hong Phong in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

During the 2 week stay they were involved in a range of activities at the school:  attending Food Technology class and cooking savoury scones and chocolate cakes, and participating in an aboriginal art painting class and an Australian Rules football clinic.

They joined in a range of VCE studies sampling classes they had not experienced before. The student cohort welcomed them in a general assembly,  listened to their musical item and participated in their quiz.

They also visited Healesville Sanctuary and many of the tourist spots in Melbourne: the Zoo, the Aquarium, State Library, Melbourne Gaol, the Magistrates’ Court, Melbourne Museum and Immigration Museum, and headed off on a river cruise. They took themselves into the city to shop for gifts for those at home and for general souvenirs, and wandered around the CBD..

At the end of the program they departed with many positive memories of their time at Kew High School. The program was successful because of the generosity of our host families and the welcoming attitude of our staff and students.
