Sports Day

St Columba's Sports Day

St Columba’s Sports Day

What a terrific day! I must admit I was a little anxious how the day would pan out especially with our past record of wet and cold days but everything ran to plan, the sun came out and most importantly the children had a wonderful time.

Thank you to Sharelle Braithwaite for all the effort she put into planning this year’s sports day. It takes a lot of work and careful organization to make sure events like this run smoothly. I would also like to thank all the parents who helped out and staff for coordinating each of the events. What a wonderful example of community spirit and collaboration.

The day for me was most memorable for the camaraderie, teamwork and great ‘spirit’ that shines bright in our children and parents as we all participated in the day. Everywhere I looked there were smiling faces, hugs, cheers and lots of encouragement towards one another.

Most people would agree that good ‘sportsmanship’ is about honoring and respecting everyone out there on the field. It is wonderful to think that the children at St Columba’s are learning this very important life skill. May they continue to carry this with them into all other aspects of their lives.

All students attending St Columba's Primary School have the right to feel safe.  The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
