No Waste Wednesdays!  Community Composting at St Columba’s

Thank you to all the families that have participated in ‘No Waste Wednesday’ over the past 2 weeks.

This week we had 19 families and teachers participating and collected a total of 49.96kg of compostable waste.  So far we have saved a total of 57.74kg of food scraps from landfill since we started last week!

Just a little reminder to remember to collect a clean bucket for your next weeks food scraps from the parent helpers when you return your filled one.  If you would like to participate, buckets will be available for collection on Wednesday mornings.

When: Every Wednesday morning from 8.30am

Where: The chairs and tables just inside the front gate

What: Fruit and Veg scraps, coffee grounds and egg shells (no meat or dairy please!)

Planter Boxes

We are so blessed to have the wonderful support of our parents from the Green Team to build more planter boxes over the weekend. These planter boxes will help us continue to sow and harvest fruit and vegetables in our school garden.
