Dickins Room

Our Wimbi class had a great week! The children really enjoyed being able to get out into the yard on Friday, they loved using the swings, trampoline and playing with balls. There were more children in on Friday and this created some more sustained play and communication emerging within the group.

Our Marram class had a busy week, flying kites, making paper planes and visiting the oval to hunt for leaves and engage in ball sport activities.

We cooked apple muffins with Kara on Thursday and painted our own autumn leaves after our discussions. Our focus is still on each child's emotional wellbeing, cooking, getting outdoors and stopping for moments of reflection- such as laying on the oval and practicing gratitude can all be done whilst at home also.

Moore Room

We hope that all our mum’s had a great mother’s day and enjoyed some rest and relaxation.

Both our groups have been enjoying planting. Budja group has planted broad bean seeds in jars and Gawarn group has planted snow pea seeds. We can’t wait to watch the shoots emerge, plant them in the planter boxes and have great conversations around the plant life-cycle. This also allows for understanding of mathematical concepts such as; cause and effect, trial and error and celebrating our contributions to achievements.

We are also still enjoying the beautiful autumn colours through painting, collage and pastel leaf drawings which has bought joy as we are able to express wonder and interest in the environment through creative expression.

There has been great imaginative play in the block area – ‘having coffee whilst working on the computers at home’, reconstructing the pebble pit and outdoor areas – we wonder how all the home improvements are going? These are awesome play scenario’s which enable our children to participate with others to achieve group outcomes as they share aspects of identity through play.
