Week 4 saw all year levels have a ‘Specialist day’ which had specialist classes run on one day. Whilst feedback was fairly positive and most students enjoyed the ‘free choice’ aspect of which subject to do first, we are recommending a timetable which students may follow if they wish.

Senior students will still have their morning Zoom check-in with classroom teachers.

Again, Specialist teachers will be available via Zoom session at 10am and throughout the day on Google Classroom to answer questions for Senior students.

Physical Education

Thanks to all the students for their continued Love of Learning in PE. Senior students this week will be creating their own fitness challenge which they will complete throughout the week.

Junior students will be working on their soccer skills this week, so everyone will need a few markers and a soccer ball or something similar. Keep in mind this will require a little bit of space so the kids have a chance to run and practice their control.

Visual Arts

In Week 4 it was again a delight to see a wide variety of responses to tasks set. Our students in 3/4 submitted work in higher volumes than in Week 3.  It was a particular delight to see the flip books, both handmade and digital. Having used everyday and found objects in our art for most of our art explorations this term -  this coming Week 5, we will use some of the more traditional materials used in art - like paintbrushes, pencils and watercolours. Stay tuned for those activities.

Performing Arts

After watching all the videos last week I can see that MPRPS students can really move and groove.  I have enjoyed watching your dance and music creations each day and seeing you improve on your techniques and performances.

Year 1/2 - You will be getting five new words this week to create your dance moves to.

Year3/4 - We will be looking at the 1950s - Rock n Roll

Year 5/6 - A new song and some challenging new cup rhythms to have a go at.

Everyone - Keep an eye out for a whole school dance to get you moving and shaking.

Don't forget Senior Choir will be meeting at 11.30am on Monday, check Google classroom for the Zoom meeting code.

Cant wait to see your new creations this week,

Have a rockin week everyone!

Indonesian

Selamat pagi, semuanya!

You might have heard a number of phrases as I comment on each of your student’s work each week and wondered - what on earth do these mean? I have given the MPRPS staff the challenge to use more Indonesian in their own teaching as well - so watch that space! I know some of our brave 1/2 teachers have started using in their check-ins!

Here are some words you might be hearing a lot. If you want to, you can even have a go yourself!
