Happenings from Week 2

Brilliant Brains

This week in BB we explored the topic of weather.

We investigated rainbows, colour and how the wind blows. We continued to develop our fine motor through playdough, using pipettes, and cloud dough.

In the lead up to Mother's Day we made a special succulent present just for mum!

SIDE Camp

The Yr 11/12 students, Mr Stevens and Caitlin Hogan went to SIDE Camp in Leederville in Week 2 of Term 2. We stayed at the very comfortable SIDE accommodation units and spent the week meeting teachers, catching up on class work and getting a taste of the city life.

The camp was a great opportunity for the students to meet their SIDE teachers face-to-face and gain a better understanding of the unit learning outcomes. The students also had an opportunity to practice some life skills that they will experience post-school such as meal planning, budgeting and grocery shopping as well as preparing and cooking meals.

Highlights of the camp included running/walking around Lake Monger in the mornings at sunrise (namely Jesse fitting in some fitness for footy!), indulging in a chocolate feast at San Churros and having breakfast on the coffee strip in Leederville on Friday before we headed back to Mukinbudin.
