Extend After School Care at Kilvington Grammar School

Our Recap
The weather has spoilt us these past two weeks at After School Care and we made sure we took full advantage of it!
Outside, saw great teamwork and camaraderie among the ASC group with many of the older children taking younger ones under their wing to ensure that they were part of all the fun that was going on outside.
‘Kick the Can’ has become a favourite of ours from the holidays and Forty/40 has certainly proved a big hit as well! Duck Duck Goose and Fruit Salad have also been revived. However, the game that brought back most memories for the staff was the classic egg and spoon race!
Drawing inspiration from My Kitchen Rules, many of the children have started their own cooking competitions. The skills being practised have been successfully transferred into action with some delicious fried rice and traditional ANZAC biscuits being served!
Science has also featured with many of the children learning how rain clouds work by creating their very own with shaving cream, water and food colouring. We also made some gooey slime that unsurprisingly made quite a mess…Whoops!
As always, craft featured heavily throughout as well! The children’s imaginations were out on display with many of them making some fantastic key chains for their bag. The kids also constructed some beautiful Chinese lanterns as well as using great teamwork to put together some tricky 3D puzzles!
