St Andrews 'Mastermind' competition winners

VALUE CHAMPIONS

In Middle School, our passion is to develop faithfully devoted servants of Christ. On a regular basis, we love to celebrate our VALUE CHAMPIONS; the people who live out our values on a daily basis.

Faithfully Honouring Commitments (Matt. 25:14-30)  – It’s about being faithful in the small things.

  • Adina Liang (5S) for doing her job so diligently - she went through the job cycle twice!
  • Bonnie Carline (5F) remembering to do her job every day
  • Agnes Chiu (6L) for trying her best in athletics even though she was injured
  • Tricia (7C) for handing in her work well before the due date
  • Jed Forbes (8K) for faithfully doing his job of door duty every morning

 

Devoted to Growth (1 Tim. 4:14-15) – It’s about seeking the small improvement one day at a time.

  • Ethan Tang (5S) for working hard to boost his Education Perfect points!
  • Evan Widjaja (5F) improving on his maths and working hard to apply feedback to move up a class
  • Daniel Boehret (6L) for finishing his persuasive writing in two lessons due to his focus in class
  • Jun Xiang (6L) for working hard in Education Perfect and getting 2500 points
  • Zoe Martinez (6C) for putting in a lot of effort into her Chinese booklet
  • Benjamin Manners (6C) for always doing his work to the best of his ability
  • Rosella Weng (7H) is always working hard to achieve her goals in her schoolwork
  • Laura Hooi (7C) for being devoted to practising and memorising a Psalm from the Bible

 

Servant Heart (1 Peter 4:7-11) – It’s about taking action to add value to others.

  • Holly Ghatas (5F) for helping others and the teachers in the classroom
  • Scott Bass (6L) for helping others with writing ideas
  • Ye Ser Chong (6C) always looking for ways to help in and outside the classroom
  • Andrew Tan (7H) for helping others with their maths
  • Alina Cao (7C) for showing good sportsmanship during PE by cheering on the people from the other team as well as her own team
  • Max Demunck (7C) for helping others with their history homework
  • Egan Nallathamby (8C) for cleaning up rubbish that wasn’t his
  • Abby Lim, Grace Jeon, Ally Lam & Samantha Loke (8K) for putting down all the chairs after lunch

CSEN PRIMARY MASTERMINDS COMPETITION

On Wednesday, 28thof August, 10 students From Year 5 & 6 were involved in the CSEN Primary Masterminds Competition. This Challenge was held at Belgrave Christian School and involved Teams from Waverley Christian College, Northside Christian College, Heathdale Christian College, Hillcrest Christian College, Flinders Christian Community College and Belgrave Heights Christian School.

 

Teams competed in answering questions from a variety of subjects including Maths, Science, English and History. Our team managed to score the highest number of points at the end of the day and came away excited about their success. 

A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT CHESS COMPETITION

On Wednesday 4th September the St Andrews Primary chess team competed in a chess tournament at North Balwyn Primary. It was a great learning experience and our boys placed 4th. Well done boys!

LOCAL MP HOSTS SCHOOL LEADERS LUNCHEON

 

 

St Andrews Primary School Captains Kate Courtis and Wesley Forward had the honour of attending the annual school leaders luncheon with local Member of Parliament Mr Nick Wakeling.  

 

15 other local schools were also represented and it was fantastic opportunity for Kate and Wesley to meet and network with other school leaders in the Ferntree Gully electorate.
