ISP News

It’s been a month since our last newsletter, but it doesn’t stop us to do more things.

We have 5 new international students come from China, Vietnam and Brazil. Welcome them to join MGC family! If you see any new faces in corridor, please say hello to them for welcoming.

Some of our Yr 11 and Yr 12 internationals attended Monash International Student Experience Day in the 1st week of this term. This event aims to provide Year 11 and 12 international students with the ideal opportunity to experience a taste of university life at Monash. The day includes a series of interactive faculty-run workshops that explore different subject areas and a VCE EAL to help them succeed in their final years of school. Hope they had a fruitful day.

And the Big news from ISP….

We would like to announce that our international students’ leadership program starts from this term! This program aims to engage the international students into school community, not only events or activities, but academic learning.

Congratulation to Yuqing (Daisy) HUANG and Ting Yuk (Anna) CHEUNG who are both Year 11 and selected to be as the International students’ representatives. Thank them to step forward with passions and be willing to connect local students’ group and internationals in school community.

Hello everyone, my name is Daisy. I’m an international student in Yr 11. Also, I’m honored to be one of the international student leaders this year. As everyone knows, ISP leader is a new program, we will try our best to support all the international students with study and to join school activities. We’ll also help them understanding different traditional cultures, and in how to communicate with people in different environments. In particular, international students come from different countries, and their living habits and customs are different. We can help them not only to adapt to the life of the school, but to bring their own national culture to everyone by using some experiences in studying and activities that we participated at school to help everyone to be happier at school!

Hi everyone! I’m Anna, who is an International Student from Hong Kong. I’m one of the International Student Leaders this year. We will try our best to help the International Student with their study and to organize some activities so that students from different countries can have a chance to fit in our school. To know more about different cultures around the world, it is always the best to chat and make friends with students from different countries!

Feel free to email us about anything and say hi to us in the corridor! ;)
