A Festival of Dips

We celebrated the final day of the 2022 Year 4 gardening program with a dip party in the BHPS Fishbowl area. Seventy-seven student gardeners and chefs, their 3 class teachers, 7 parent helpers and 4 community volunteers participated. We spent the morning of November 29 in 12 small groups that produced 12 different dips featuring produce from our school garden.

Once the preparation was complete, dips were displayed buffet style and we all selected several of them to enjoy with vegetable sticks and toasted pita bread. What an array of colours, flavours and textures! What a great reward to all of us for working hard in the food garden all year!

To finish the event, the gardening volunteers presented each student with a booklet of recipes for all 12 dips we had made. The booklets were beautifully illustrated by the students.
