MR G’S HIGHLIGHTS! WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING AT SPS?
Hi everyone I can’t believe that we are at the end of another fantastic school year already. We have had lots of exciting things happening over the last few weeks. Our Foundation students went swimming last week and did an amazing job throughout the week walking to and from the pool. We also had our SRC dress up day where students got to come dressed as what they would like to be when they grow up. There were some extraordinary costumes on the day from doctors, vets, pilots, teachers and tradies. We had our Reading night’s party yesterday which was a fantastic celebration and I will talk more about it a little further down. We have got a massive last week ahead with our Year 6 Graduation, House Day, Class Parties, Christmas Concert, Meet your 2023 teacher and our Final Assembly for 2022. Like I said we have a jam packed final week full of celebrations.
I would like to say a special goodbye to all of our Year 6 students leaving Somerville Primary School and wish them all the best for their journey through high school and in to the future as I know you will all achieve great things.
READING NIGHTS
Congratulations to all of the students that have reached reading nights milestones throughout the year. We had over 150 students reach the magical 200 nights of reading or more. We had a wonderful time celebrating everyone’s success and having Pizza, chocolate frogs and juice boxes for lunch. I look forward to having our reading night’s celebration again in 2023 and would love to have all of our students reach 200 nights or more next year
I would like to say a special thankyou to Somerville Domino’s Pizza as they kindly opened their doors just for our school and were incredibly generous by giving as an unbelievable deal to help support our Reading Night’s Pizza Party
ASSEMBLY AWARDS
Congratulations to all of our Somerville Star Award winners at our last assembly for the year. You have all done a sensational job and set a wonderful example for your classmates.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. I hope everyone has the chance to celebrate and spend some quality time with family and friends over the break. I am sure all our students, staff and families will enjoy a well-deserved holiday and I look forward to hearing about all of the students exciting adventures when they return in 2023. Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you for all of your support throughout the year and moving forward.
