I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend. Congratulations to our Tiger supporters who can once again enjoy the spoils of another Premiership. Commiserations to our Cats fans..... Let's hope that the 2021 AFL season will see a normal season with a host of games played in Victoria!!
I remind you all that next Monday Cup Eve and next Tuesday (Melbourne Cup ) the school will be closed.
Our Book Week celebrations began on Monday with our dress up day! It was awesome to see all the costumes and the enjoyment on our students faces!! Book Week continues with a range of activities across the week. I thank Georgina Torrisi for her brilliant organisation!
Reading to and with your child and discussing stories is vitally important. Encourage your children to read for leisure. Taking your child regularly to the Library is a gift! (Post Covid Restrictions of course)

New Era for Catholic Education in Melbourne
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) has been established to assume the governance and operation of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
The change in governance arrangements will see all 293 schools owned by the Archdiocese, its parishes or associations of parishes in the Archdiocese of Melbourne transferred to MACS, which will be responsible for the governance and operation of the schools.
"Building on the significant legacy of parish priest led and governed schools, MACS will usher in a new era for Catholic Education in the Archdiocese" Archbishop Peter Comensoli said.
MACS will officially begin its governance responsibilities on January 1 2021.

School students will be unaffected by the transition.
Fete 2021
Date for your 2021 Diary - Next Year's Fete will be held on Saturday 23rd October in perfect sunshine!!!

Prep Orientation and Parent Information Session
Based on decisions and advice given to us by the Government and CECV, we know that It will NOT be possible to have ALL our 2021 Preps to come onsite at the one time. We are however currently exploring possibilities to assist our 2021 prep students to transition well into SJV.
We are in contact with Kinders and will let you know more information in the next couple of weeks. In relation to a Prep 2021 Parent Information session(s), these will have to be conducted online. We will send an email home detailing date(s) and times and explaining the process. If you have any concerns do not hesitate to contact us.
Year 6 Graduation
We are looking at various possibilities to ensure that our Year 6 students can celebrate the end of their Primary school days with a memorable Graduation. Stay tuned! We will be in touch with details.
2021 School Organisation
Planning is well underway for 2021. Please read carefully the Page 2021 Organisational Structure.

Canteen
The Canteen will open Wednesday to Friday BUT will only open for ordered Lunches via CDF pay. There is no over the canteen sales; no icypole icecream or lolly sales. Students will not be able to line up for any incidental foods until further notice.
Traffic Safety
Parents/ Carers dropping off /picking up their child need to be considerate , patient and MINDFUL of everyone’s safety
COVID Symptoms - Get tested
If a student / family member is unwell please get tested and stay at home until the result is known.
