Around The School

Information Processes and Technology (IPT)

As part of IPT, Years 3-6 have been completing a variety of activities this term.

In groups, Year 3 students are exploring different homes around the world. Students are currently constructing the different homes during our lessons. As part of this process students have used problem solving skills to address obstacles with the construction of their homes.

Year 4 students are currently planning and creating a video about what they like about their hometowns. During the process students have learnt about camera shots and angles. They have used a variety of programs (Google Docs, Pic Collage & iMovie) to complete these tasks. Watch out for the completed video in coming weeks.

Story Jumper is a web based program that the Year 5 students have been exploring this term to produce books. They have been adding text, props and backgrounds to the pages. During Week 6 they began to work on a class recipe book. Watch out for the completed recipe book in coming weeks.

Year 6 students created a diorama as part of their Book Week activity with technology added through the addition of a moving part, either through creating a simple machine (pulleys, wedges, slides) or the use of digital technologies (Blue Bots or Spheroes). There have been lively discussions as the student’s plan and create their own projects.

Remembrance Day

At School this week students watched a virtual Remembrance Day program, to mark this important day. Thanks to all the students who assisted in putting together the program. We also, very aptly, discovered some poppies growing near the car park this week!
