GOOD BYE TO THE CLASS OF 2020
Official classes for our Year 12 students concluded on Thursday 29 October. It was wonderful to see our Year 12 students smiling, laughing and having fun as their final day of classes drew to a close. Students had planned an array of activities including Trivia Quiz, fancy dress, opening of time capsules, Year 12 video, shirt signing, sausage sizzle and a formal presentation of a Year 12 certificate, photo with the Principal, Mr John Albiston, and a memento Year 12 glass from the PFA. A special thank you to Mr Travis de Valle and Mr Adam Martin for taking all of the photos, Mr Simon Cameron, Mr Joel Treyvaud and Mrs Sarah Bahramis for the organisation of the day with the assistance of the school captains and the PFA for their generosity in providing the Year 12 glasses which will provide a wonderful reminder to the students of their time at Frankston High School.
Our Year 12 Class of 2020 can be proud of their achievements. To say this has been a difficult and challenging year is an understatement. We started the year with the devastating bushfires and then in March we began a combination of remote learning and on site learning due to COVID-19 and we faced harsh lockdowns. I would like to congratulate our Year 12 students, I am so proud of all of you and your achievements. You have formed an important part of our history and I am full of admiration for you in your dedication to your studies and your resilience.
The VCAA examination period commenced on Tuesday 10 November and will conclude on Tuesday 1 December. Our exam supervisors have commented that this year’s students have been the best they have supervised over the years. Congratulations to all Year 12 students on the perfect start to their exams. I am sure this is due in part to the practice exams held and the high expectations communicated by Year 12 teachers. It has been very pleasing to see the high number of students who have been at school meeting with their teachers, attending revision lectures and completing practice exam papers. Thank you to the Year 12 teachers who give freely of their time and work diligently in assisting students, marking practice exams and holding revision lectures to assist students in preparing thoroughly for these exams.

Congratulations also to both boys for their nominations as councillors on Frankston City Council representing the South Ward. Liam was successful with his nomination, and whilst balancing his Year 12 exams, he will be attending his first council meeting as Councillor Hughes. Both Liam and Jerome are to be congratulated, they are both inspirational young citizens, and Jerome has informed us he will be proudly supporting his twin as his manager.
VCAL COOK-OFF
Our Intermediate VCAL students have recently submitted entries to the 2021 Frankston Mornington Peninsula VCAL Cook Off competition. The students cooked creative dishes using only the ingredients they could find at home in their pantries. The VCAL class members have completed several learning tasks exploring food handling over the year. They have produced delicious dishes, many of which have been featured on the competitions Facebook page. Congratulations goes to Jaxon Fraser, Matthew Crouch, James White, Hailee Hazeldene and Jake Simpson for their entries.
EARLY COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM

As in previous years, we are running a compulsory Early Commencement Program for all 2021 Year 11 and Year 12 students from Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December. Teachers will conduct classes for the week and the work covered will not be repeated next year.
This program gives students the opportunity to get a head start with their studies and enables them to complete preparatory work over the summer school holidays.
