Uniform
Now that we are back on campus and the shops are open it is essential that we fix the uniform situation.
We are officially in the Summer uniform. This means shorts and short sleeved shirts for boys, no ties. Girls are in the school dress. Visible layers are not permitted under the uniform so this means no leggings with dresses or long sleeved tops under summer shirts.
We know the mornings can be a bit fresh, so students are welcome to wear singlets, jumpers and the school jacket. Once at school, they run around and don’t notice the cold, we have heating in all of our rooms.
I have also noticed some jewellery creeping back in. The only jewellery permitted is a wrist watch and a single pair of stud earrings for girls (no stones or drops). Bracelets or any items around the wrist are not permitted due to the risk in the playground to other children. If your child must wear a bracelet for religious purposes, please contact reception to access a Uniform exemption form that must be signed by the your religious/temple leader. This exemption lasts for one full year.
It is really important that we work together on the uniform as it speaks so loudly about who we are as a community. I am really proud of the College we have built so far and our reputation in the community is outstanding, thank you in advance for your support and commitment to the College.

Hats are compulsory - Sun Smart
During Term 4 our students are required to wear hats whilst outdoors. With CovidSAFE guidelines in place we are no longer able to provide 'spare' hats to students to borrow if they have lost or forgotten their hat.
We have a small number of hats available to purchase from College Reception for your convenience. Or please purchase accordingly from the Uniform Shop.
Also a reminder to please name all your child's uniform items and check from time to time that information is still legible. We do our best to get lost property back to the rightful owner, thank you.
Future Canteen/food orders
We are currently seeking interested business owners to re-launch our canteen, as Cody’s Cafe was forced to close due to COVID. The tender requirements for the provider will be available on the website soon.
Should the right business opportunity arise we could launch during term 4, or will launch officially at the start of Term 1. The canteen will be available for students on Tuesday and Thursday. Food will be delivered to the school at lunch time.
School photo orders
School photo orders were due back today.
The School Photographers are working to ensure they can take as many student and school photos as possible during the rest of Term 4 as a priority. Therefore will be processing photo orders during the school holidays. Please be aware that we are not expecting the photo orders back until Term 1, 2021. Thanks for your understanding.
Discovery Centre / Library
What an exciting two weeks we have had here opening our new Discovery Centre. Last week, being Book Week we welcomed the students in our beautiful new library. It was such a blessing to see the joy on their faces as they came into the room for the first time and were able to choose their first book.
A huge Thank You to all who have donated so generously so we could launch our library having enough books for each student to have a wide choice of titles from which to choose. We now have a working library with 1604 books for the students to enjoy.
As we seem to have acquired many more donations of books for the younger students, our efforts to build up the numbers for the senior grades will need to increase as our school continues to grow. Grade 5 students are enjoying having a comfortable “hangout zone” during lunch breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We still need many more books before we can issue each student with more than 1 book at a time. The book list on Amazon will remain open at least until the end of the year. An idea would be to buy your child a book or two from the list for Christmas and when they return to school next year, to donate the books to the library.
Library periods allocated for the various classes is as follows:
- Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 have one library period each week,
- Grades 3, 4 and 5 have one period a fortnight.

Hindi is coming 2021!
We can officially announce that we have appointed a Hindi teacher for next year.
Ms Dipna Massey is moving to the area mid-November, from the Eastern Suburbs. We are looking forward to this great opportunity.
Hay-fever Season, management at school.
We have seen a number of our students suffering with hay-fever symptoms this week. If your child suffers in this way ASCIA has provided an Allergy Plan template for hay-fever that can be completed in consultation with your medical practitioner or pharmacist. This process facilitates us to have appropriate medication, information and authority to assist your child to manage their symptoms whilst at school.
You can find further information and Hayfever Fast Facts here:
