FLUFFY PREP VISITIORS

The Prep classes have had some adorable visitors this week. Both classes have had 6 week old baby bunnies (Kittens) in our room which have had many cuddles and brought joy to all.

“Snowy is a little cheeky and likes to lick me” – Chloe
“Bingo is silly running up and down the sea-saw” – Joshua

YEAR 6 ART

Our amazing Year 6 Artists have been working hard to develop their Plein Air skills outside!

What a beautiful day for observing the subtle complexities God’s Creation and noticing the small and big things He has made. The focus here was positive and negative space, working without an eraser and looking, looking, looking at one thing for a set time. They did so well!

PRIMARY SCHOOL BUDDIES

Year 6C and Prep P buddies had a wonderful time this week getting to know each other, forming lasting friendships and having fun in the sun. The Year 6 buddies coached the Preps in activities including skipping, soccer, coyts and catching. We have loved our time together.

SPEECH TIME IN YEAR 7 HISTORY CLASS

Here are some Year 7 students bravely sharing wonderful presentations on the historical context, early life and achievements of a significant historical figure from ancient India, and how they were perceived by their contemporaries.

They did such a wonderful job! Well done Mrs Krishnan for preparing them so well!

The Australian Science Olympiads are a national enrichment program for secondary science students. They provide rewarding opportunities for students to extend themselves way beyond school science through challenging exams, stimulating extensions and enrichment programs and international competitions.

Earlier this year, Matthew Wu (7H) sat the Junior Science Olympiad Exam and achieved a distinction, which puts him in the top 50 students nationally for this exam.

Well done Matthew! We look forward to seeing where your love for science takes you.

YEAR 10 DRAMA PRODUCTION

On Thursday 12th November the Year 10 theatre class put on their production, "It's not you, it's me". There were some amazing performances by each of the participants. This is the only production during 2020 that has been able to be performed live. It was rewarding to be performing in front of a live audience.

YEAR 12 THEATRE STUDIES MONOLOGUE EXAM

On Friday November 6th, our Year 12 Theatre Studies class had their externally assessed Monologue Examinations. Each student had prepared an 8-minute interpretation of a set monologue, presenting these either as an actor or as a designer; and all from memory!

This was the culmination of months and months of work, much of which was completed from home and through zoom calls. The students sourced their own props, costumes, set pieces and soundtracks, producing some truly inspiring work. I am extremely proud of all they have achieved; their dedication, creative problem-solving, resilience and generosity.

We had a wonderful morning in the carpark of the exam venue – praying for each student before they went in, and celebrating with each when they were done. Now to prepare for the Written Exam!

Careers Conversations

All of us are created to serve. In my conversations with students I encourage them to focus on their strengths and remind them that there is no one exactly like them. It is very important that students understand that they are unique and that God made them special and created them for a purpose. All of us are called to serve God and God uses us for His glory and to bless others.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
