Student Expectations

Morning Routine

Independence Day will continue to occur each Wednesday. It has been fantastic to see the children  taking responsibility for their own belongings and being organised and ready to start the school day. Thank you for your support with encouraging this

independence. This is excellent preparation for Year 1.

The morning routine involves -

1.      Bring in school bags, unpack & put bag in locker.

2.     Put water bottles away.

3. Place readers into returns box and put reader folder into basket.

4. Put any finished library books into the library box & any lunch orders or office notes into plastic tubs.

5. Choose a Discovery Time activity.

Toilet Troubles

As you may be aware we are having some problems keeping the toilets clean, as some students continue to find managing their toileting independently challenging. We have on numerous occasions addressed the issue through classroom sharing time and teaching, however it continues to be an issue. To the point that keeping the toilets clean is now taking away from teaching time, not to mention it is not a pleasant job for anyone!

Teachers will continue to address the issue in class time and have put some helpful visuals in the cubicles. We would really appreciate families taking the  time to have a conversation at home about how to use the toilets in a caring, respectful and safe way and perhaps do some practicing.

We encourage you to please discuss with your child about the correct use of the toilets. We understand that accidents do happen and we encourage children to please tell an adult if they need help to clean up any accidents.

As parents you can help your child by -

*Recognising when he or she has to go to the bathroom

*Using toilet paper correctly

*Flushing the toilet

*Washing hands

*Drying hands

Please come and discuss with us if there are any concerns or issues in regards to the use of the toilets.
