Kindergarten

Building our relationships

Reflecting on the term, the kindergarten children have made enormous leaps and bounds.  For many of them it has been their first experience away from mum or dad, and for some, an opportunity to reconnect with their friends and teachers.  We place a huge emphasis on building secure and caring relationships with the children, so that saying goodbye to family members in the morning doesn't feel so overwhelming.  We pay particular attention to creating an environment that is relaxing, warm, nurturing, imaginative and creative, and give the children time and space to settle in to a routine that makes them feel a sense of belonging.

We have enjoyed an array of learning experiences this week to end the term, with autumn painting, cooking, story telling by one of our kinder parents, sinking and floating experiments and a local discovery walk. Next term we are hoping to explore the diversity that exists in our kinder families, through food and celebrations, and will take a closer look at the relationship between healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Have a safe and restful term break.
