Library News

Welcome back to school everyone!
Come in to the school library on Helen Fraser Campus to browse our new books and magazines, find a cool spot to study or to play board and card games.
Please join our weekly Monday lunchtime book group - The Circle of Friends - new members welcome anytime! Students share about their favourite books, make recommendations for the library to buy and take part in competitions every term for Dymocks book vouchers! First meetup will be Monday 4th February in the school library at 1pm.
Library staff can assist you with printing, photocopying and laminating needs at any time. For newcomers please come in to look around the library and to say hi to Mrs Kimpton and I (Miss Marshall) - we love to hear your book and magazine recommendations!

Borrowing will cease for the year onFriday November 22ndwith all items due back onFriday November 29th before the annual library stocktake in December.
Overdues 2019
Students with overdue books are listed and alerted on Compass every 2nd week . Parents/caregivers are contacted when items are overdue.
Follow up visits to student classes to collect overdue books will be carried out by Mrs Kimpton and subsequent meetings will be arranged with the Library Manager - Miss Marshall. Books overdue by 12 weeks will be considered lost and students billed for replacement of item/s plus $5 processing fee per item. This is a fair use system to keep our collections circulating so please come in and renew your books if you need longer to enjoy them :)
We encourage everyone to sign up for Geelong Regional Library Corporation membership - it's free!!! Collect your application forms from the school library (front desk), get them signed by a parent / guardian, and return them to the library - I get them made up every
Friday. Lots of e-resources, free onsite internet access, wide range of books, study guides, DVDs and magazines - so many clubs and activity groups! I recommend their spaces for quiet study / homework.
Happy Reading in 2019!
Miss Ingrid Marshall
