DUKE OF EDINBURGH

Paddle Boarding

On Friday 24 February, two Duke of Edinburgh classes went on an adventure to St Kilda for the day.  After the previous weeks stand up paddle boarding session unfortunately being cancelled due to strong winds, the students and staff were frothing with excitement!

The most ferocious weather was not going to deter the keen paddle boarders, even though the winds were high our spirits were higher as we hit the water paddling with enthusiasm.

Starting on our knees we paddled out along the pier until there was enough shelter to try and stand up. With the city skyline on our horizons we paddled like absolute champions impressing the paddle board instructors with our skills.

Overall it was a fantastic day with lots of fun, splashes and shenanigans. We even saw a penguin!

Looking forward to the next excursion/camp with the Duke of Ed crew. Hopefully next time I can stay more upright!
