Wellbeing and Engagement
Despite it being a disrupted week with Melbourne Cup Tuesday, it was so wonderful to finally have all of our levels back onsite last week. Although there were some tired faces by the end of the week, there were also a lot of happy ones. Mrs Barr , Ms McLeod and I visited into classes each morning to welcome back the students, and the appreciation for being onsite, with their teachers and their friends, was evident in every room.
We are still operating under DET Guidelines which were published beginning 1st November. This involves mask wearing for our Level 3 – 6 students and staff, keeping student levels separate as much as possible, practicing good hand hygiene, staggered starts and finishes, density limits inside when adults who are not staff are present, and vaccination requirements for all staff. We have increased cleaning hours and all student tables and high touch areas are sanitised every day. This is in addition to the daily cleaning of all floor surfaces, sinks and toilets.
Because of the density limits we are still unable to invite parents/carers into our assemblies. We will run them with only one level present and other levels linking in from their classrooms via WebEx. We invite parents to join us on WebEx also. We expect new DET guidelines in the near future as the new state vaccination targets are reached. We hope these see an easing of school restrictions and we are very much looking forward to having our families join our events and assemblies – in the flesh!
Staff and Student Netball
We will have our annual Staff and Student Netball game on Friday 3rd December. This will be an amazing spectacle of staff brilliance and sportspersonship. More details to come.
Whole School Colour Run
We are in the planning stages of a Whole School Colour Run on Friday 10th December. This year there will be a flat entry fee for students which will include coloured glasses and a positivity bandanna from Canteen. All proceeds for the Bandanna will go to Canteen to support young people affected by Cancer. The remaining entry fee funds will go to the school. Students will need a white t-shirt for the run on the day. This will be a spectacular whole school event and we are very hopeful that parents / carers will be able to attend.
Silly Sock Day
Last Friday we celebrated our Silly Sock fundraiser for The Child Foundation and it was hilarious to see all the colourful and very silly socks on display. We received a thank you letter from The Child Foundation and a request for some pictures of the Silly Sock Day. We have sent them some images of feet!
Hello Rangeview,
I just want to share that the generous donation from your community at Rangeview Primary School is quite touching. We are impressed at Child Foundation at how children can so deeply care for other children in need.
We will be sending a thank you note soon on behalf of the Afghan families and children your support will go toward. Would you mind please sending some photos we can share of the silly socks? The Child Foundation family loves good news like this and we’d love to share the images with your permission.
Thank you again and again!
