Level 1

Level 1 News

It has been a busy two weeks, welcoming our Level 1 students back to full-time learning at school.

In Maths, we have continued investigating mass, and did some ‘hefting’ of various objects in our classrooms. In Writing, we have been discussing persuasive writing, and also revisiting recounts, narratives and procedural texts.

Students have been enjoying our Inquiry topic of Transport, making wooden planes during one of our final WebExes, and then wooden boats back in the classroom. We have also continued with our History theme, comparing schools in the past to schools in the present (How did they survive WITHOUT internet??!), and looking at the way other things have changed over time. Our Toy Incursion, a hands-on look at different types of toys, including historical toys, was thoroughly enjoyed by students, and it was wonderful to be able to run this at school.

Students enjoyed the wonderful Bollywood Dancing session celebrating Diwali. And Silly Sock Day was a hoot, with some hilarious and happy designs making us smile.

We wish you a fabulous week.
