Principal's Report

Grade 5/6 Production "The Amazing Adventures of Superstan"

Cameras, lights, action! Another first is the filming of our production. The decision was made because we can't have a live audience and our students would not be as polished as in previous years. The recording will be made available for our families and students in grade 5 and 6 before this is shown to the whole school.

A huge shout out to the parents who rallied with props and costumes for a another memorable production. The Karralyka Theatre Company came to our aid with a stage and equipment - cameras, sound and technicians for the filming. I am looking forward to seeing the final edit with our families.

Great work to lead this - Megan Campbell and Deirdree Geilings and all the grade 5 and 6 teachers. Our students are fortunate to have such passionate educators who wanted to see this through and make it happen.

This information will be sent out to families later this week in a paper copy and email with the new website payment option. There is a link to the Rangeview website 'Voluntary Parent Payment Contributions' tab. Our Business Manager Collen Stavrakis has filmed a 'how to' recording to help step you through the process.

Families can also make VPPC payments via the paper copy that will be sent out this week.

Library Signs

Huge thank you to one of our talented parents, Genevieve Frostick. Genevieve has painted the story book signs in the library. There are many of our favourite story places like Platform 9 and 3/4 or Donaldson's Dairy. I wonder if you can find your favourite place?

Remembrance Day - live stream from the Shrine of Remembrance on Thursday for the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Poppies are for sale at the office. The school will mark one minute silence at that time. Our two school captains, Luke and Elise will join other local schools to place a wreath at the ANZAC Memorial in Halliday Park and read the Poppy Story.

Final School Council Meeting 24 November - Meeting and Dinner

Thank you to our school council members who have served  our community over another turbulent year.

Special mention to Mark Davies who has been on the Rangeview School Council for over 5 years. Mark has held the executive role of Treasurer and Vice President and filled in as President when needed.  He will be finishing this year. Thank you Mark for your valued contribution to our school over many years.

A reminder to families that our school council relies on parent membership so if you are interested the call for nominations happens at the beginning of term 1 next year. We have had a number of new members this year including Sherol Singh our School Council President. Sherol has led our school council over the year supported by the executive team: Vice President Chris Robinson and Treasurers Sartaj Singh and Mark Davies.

Staffing News - Farewells

At this time of the year, we start to announce staffing changes for the following. This year is no different.

  • Carmel Brown (Art teacher and Class teacher) has resigned her position at Rangeview after 18 years and is looking forward to travelling with her husband and spending time with her family. She has enjoyed her time over the many years at Rangeview and her contributions to our school.
  • Robyn Gardiner (Office Admin) has been on leave and will be retiring at the end of the year. Robyn will be using her time for her continuing travels and time with her family. Robyn has been at Rangeview for 13 years.
  • Meg Hubbard (Grade 5/6 teacher and Leading teacher) has successfully applied for a one year teaching position  in the far north of Australia. Meg will be working in a remote Aboriginal community at Shepherdson College, Galiwin’ku, Elcho Island in 2022. Meg will be taking leave for the year. We will be looking to establish a sister school with our distant colleague. Meg will be an asset to her new school and she will return in 2023.

  • Jackie Moran (Grade 1 teacher) will be not be returning in 2022 and has worked here over 13 years and has enjoyed her time and  will also miss the staff  and students she has worked with.
