Prep

After what has felt like forever we are finally back at school!

On Monday morning. Miss Karen and I were thrilled to once again welcome our beautiful preppies back to school. We were greeted with smiles and waves and any nerves they had soon melted away once they were reunited with their classmates.

The Preps have been very excited about their return to school (as were there parents) and over the last couple of days have enjoyed getting back into learning, play with friends and all of the other experiences that school offers. That being said, I am sure there have been some very tired preps (and teachers) at the end of each day but I can't wait to be back in the class room again on Monday :)

Literacy

During remote learning the preps continued to build their phonics, reading and writing skills through the InitiaLit program. They were thrilled to hear that we only have two lessons left until we complete the program! Wooohoooo!! All of their hard work has certainly paid off as they have shown me their amazing literacy skills over the last couple of days. Once we complete the program the preps we will spend time revising and targeting specific gaps in learning so we are ready for grade 1!

Readers went home yesterday. Can I please ask that we get back into the habit of nightly reading. We will change our readers over each day at school so please make sure that they are brought to school each day and are kept in a safe spot, preferably their blue folder.

Maths

This week we started a new unit on measurement. The Preps had lots of fun using blocks to measure items from the classroom. We also measured ourselves and compared our height with things that were shorter or taller than us.
